In 2020, Chapin Interiors celebrates 20 years of understated elegance and excellence in interior design. Principal Sarah Chapin is an accomplished interior designer working with discerning clients in New England, around the Northeast, and beyond. In addition to having earned degrees from both Hollins University and the Parsons School of Design, Sarah also received an informal education in interior furnishings while working alongside her father, a pioneer in the contemporary housewares industry in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood in the 1970s. Sarah’s design skills are not confined to a single aesthetic; instead, she looks to the architecture of the home, its surrounding environment, and her clients’ taste and lifestyle to establish the direction of each project.

Clients and colleagues alike rely on Sarah for her professionalism, exceptional communication and meticulous attention to detail. She enjoys collaborating with builders, contractors, architects, and skilled craftspeople. Her extensive knowledge of materials, techniques and unique vendors allow her to provide personalized solutions for each client. The result is a thoughtfully realized, warm and welcoming home that reflects the owners’ style and will be enjoyed for years to come.

Much like the spaces she creates, Sarah is both approachable and refined. Sarah spends much of her free time in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire either biking, hiking or discussing architecture, design and renovating over dinner with friends.  In July of 2020, Sarah opened an additional interior design office on Main Street in New London.

Sarah is supported by Gina Balzano. Gina is a graduate of FIT and has a background in production of fine custom furniture. Before joining Chapin Interiors, she managed residential projects for a New York City-based Architectural Digest 100 List designer with discretion and professionalism. In addition to collaborating creatively with Sarah on client projects, she also expedites production and manages client and vendor relations.
